Boho Chic Glamping Party - a Rentable Tent Experience
I know you’ve heard of “glamping” by now, but have you ever actually tried glamorous camping?! I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not super into roughing it in the wilderness, but I could definitely be into a boho chic glamping experience in the backyard! If you’re like me, I have some great news! I am so excited to announce the latest MINT Event Design offering - an amazing giant tent and picnic setup you can rent to create your very own glamping experience in your backyard! This set up is perfect for any type of party, from birthdays to bachelorettes, but today I’m going to share how I recently set it up for a client’s daughter Lexi’s Boho Chic 14th birthday party.
Tent
Let’s jump right into the main component - the tent! This gorgeous white tent is large enough to fit 8 twin mattresses comfortably, potentially more if you cut down a bit on some of the decorations and space between beds.
But for this party, I went all out on decor! I decorated the outside with a beautiful balloon garland, and covered the floor of the tent with textured rugs. Guests were welcomed to the tent by gorgeous bohemian baskets, plants, candles, lanterns, tassels and fringe holding the zippered flaps open. I used some of the baskets to hold extra blankets, in case anyone got cold overnight.
Behind each twin sized mattress, I used large basket lids to create the look of “headboards”, with dried and dyed palm leaves arranged in a fan pattern on them. The beds were covered with crisp white sheets and pillows, with soft blush pink blankets on top.
At the end of each bed, I set up personalized slumber party kits for each guest.
Then, next to each bed, I used overturned baskets or ottomans as “night stands”, with jars of pampas grass, tassels, cloths, unique signs for each, and candles to provide a warm glow once it got dark.
Picnic Area
Before getting to the tent slumbering, however, the guests at this party were set up with a lovely picnic area to enjoy food, drinks, and conversation! I used another large area rug on the ground, and covered it with pillows and a low wooden table (pssstt…..you can also rent this picnic table for your party!).
Because the guests at this particular boho chic glamping party were teenagers, I provided bottles of sparkling grape juice. I also set up an ottoman stand at the end of the table with a pretty floral arrangement, and extra plates, napkins, and utensils for appetizers and desserts.
To decorate the table, I created a runner out of draped pink fabric, and added a few stunning floral arrangements and candles.
For placemats, I used woven raffia fans. Each place setting included a pink dinner plate and goblet, bamboo utensils, gold and white striped napkins, and a lovely wooden place card with fringe tassel from Creative Amme. To provide the teens with a quick before-dinner snack, I put a small cookie on each plate as well. The amazing cookies were provided by Westlake Bakes, and featured frosting personalized for Lexi’s party.
Desserts and Drinks
Speaking of cookies, Westlake Bakes provided enough for everyone to have more than one! The rest of them were set up in a dessert station to the side of the picnic area. I used painted wooden panels draped with a macrame garland to create a chic geometric backdrop to the desserts.
All of the desserts sat on a variety of stands and tables, and I added vases of pampas grass and palm leaves to each side.
In addition to the cookies, I set up a clear stand for macarons, and gave a glorious cake from Cakes By Lexi (the birthday girl herself!) the highlighted center spot.
Next to the dessert station, I set up a water station with a wooden triangle frame and pink ribbon backdrop.
Hot Cocoa Station
Because it got a bit chilly at night, the last thing I set up was a hot cocoa station for the girls to warm up with before bed. A wooden stand held a hot water dispenser and jars of powdered cocoa mix and mini marshmallows on the top shelf. On the bottom shelf, I provided paper cups, lids, and wooden stirrers. The final touch was a lamp that provided a warm glow to guide the girls to the hot cocoa in the dim light of the evening.
